Our Autumn theme has proven so popular that we will be continuing it on for another week as we bring the woodland to life in our small world area.  The Caterpillars have built and painted their own tree house for the animals to hide in.  Where do you think the fox will sleep?  Will the owl live high or low?  Let’s find out more about these wonderful creatures as we use our imagination.  With real grass, twigs, acorns and leaves it is going to be just like the real thing! It’s all change and with the weather turning colder the children have really noticed the changes in the season.  This week we will be bringing the Autumn inside with leaves to rustle and jump in, acorns and conkers to count and Autumnal creatures to discover.  With a visit to the library we will be collecting books to discover more about this wonderful time of the year.  In our malleable area we will be creating Autumn scented play dough with the addition of pinecones and other such materials...

Last week was so much fun that we are going to be extending our areas further.  Our small world of builders, will continue with the inclusion of various construction machinery to further create role play scenarios.  Likewise our malleable area will be going down to the farm with a selection of cereals, and various textures to dig and plough through using tractors trailers to fill and empty as they feed the animals in question.
