I know you don’t want to hear this but Christmas is just around the corner and this is always the busiest time of year for us as we prepare for all the exciting events that will be occurring on the lead up to this exciting time. Make sure you plan ahead and put the dates into your diary so that you and your child don’t miss out.
Important Dates
If you are Term Time only, the children will break up from Nursery on Friday the 18th December. The last day of Nursery for all other children is Wednesday the 23rd of December. All children will be due back to Nursery on Monday the 4th of January 2016.
NB The Primary school portal is now open to enrol your children to primary school if you are starting school in September 2016
Nativity Play
The Butterflies will be performing their Nativity play during the week commencing the 14th December. Please look out for the times of the performances and make sure you book your seat. Places are limited!
Carol Singing
The Bumblebees and the Caterpillars will be doing a Christmas Carol sing – a – long, in the afternoons of the week commencing 14th December at 3.00p.m. Please get your singing voices ready and come and join in with our sing and rhyme time. Song sheets can be given on request.
Christmas Fete
The children will be making Christmas crafts to sell during the week commencing the 14th December from 4.00 p.m each afternoon. We are hoping that you may wish to bring Grandparents in to have a look around with your child so that they can proudly show off their Nursery and their work that is displayed around the rooms. The crafts will be inexpensive and all proceeds will be donated to the charity CLIC.
Frozen
As a special treat for our Butterfly children, we are planning a cinema night on Monday the 22nd December at 4.00. All the Butterflies are invited and we are hoping that the whole family may wish to attend as well. This event will hopefully, weather permitting take place outside so please dress up warm, bring blankets and cushions and prepare to watch Frozen in the night sky! Please bring your own snacks.
The Christmas Party
The Christmas party for all children will be taking place on Wednesday the 23rd December. The morning party will be during the hours of 10.00 – 11.30 a.m. and the afternoon party will be 2.00 – 3.30p.m. Due to high numbers we are unfortunately unable to swap children from morning to afternoon party on request. If your child is able to attend could you please let us know by ticking their name, so that we are able to plan and prepare.
Competition Winners
Congratulations to Kirsty Abott who won a £25.00 Waitress Voucher during our School Open Evening, which I hasten to add was a great success and Thank you to all who attended.
Congratulations to the Hensberg Family who won our photo competition.
Congratulations to The Devaney family who have won £25.00 in childcare vouchers for downloading the Stepping Stones App, in our October competition.
Stock of Spare Clothes
Please, can you check your supplies to see if you have any of our clothing.
We are particularly short of trousers, socks and pants for three years and up.
It would be very helpful if all children brought with them a bag of spare clothes in case of accidents and messy play.
Children in Need
Our baking and selling has been a great success and I would like to thank you all for bringing in cakes to sell as well as supporting the children by buying their wonderful baking. I am sure you will agree that the children have worked extremely hard and have made some wonderful creations that have been delicious to eat. You will be pleased to hear that you raised a total of £120.00
Fees from Febuary 2016
We are very conscious of the needs of parents when raising fees and it is something we do with reluctance, but out of necessity to meet our overheads and to ensure we continue the quality of care we provide, it is with regret that we are increasing fees.
We have tried to keep the increases to a minimum and do not look to increase fees unless absolutely essential, this is our first increase for 3 years, we have now got to the stage where the inevitable has to happen. We feel it is only fair to give parents time to consider other options should they need to do so, but more importantly to plan ahead with this in mind we are not implementing the fee increase until February 2016.
