Caterpillar’s Learning Experiences W/c 19th December 2016

Posted on Sunday, December 18, 2016 in Caterpillars Learning

Last week we explored the Artic through small world play, introducing animals such as penguins, polar bears, seals and whales.  This week we’re taking it one step further as we use our coloured torches to create the Northern Lights!

This will link in nicely with our malleable area where we will introduce colour mixing into our snow using pipettes and watching the effect as the colour drips on to the substance.  Wow!

Our hairdressing has now been extended onto our pets as we prepare them for Christmas.  Look out for the shampoo and set!  Oh, and look out for those clippers.  I wonder if Bertie will be a client!   Being clean is obviously key at the moment.  After noticing that the fence needed a clean last week, this week we will be washing our cars inside and out.  Get the hoovers ready; the bubbles prepared as we make them spick and span.  Once clean they’ll be ready for their service of refuelling, checking the oil and water as well as pumping up the tyres.

Outside we will be getting into the Christmas mood by visiting the town to see the pretty decorations, the Reindeer and going on the Robin Hunt at the local Waitrose.

Don’t forget on Friday it’s our Christmas Party Day.  Have a great Christmas and New Year; we’ll look forward to seeing you on the 3rd January.
