Section 3 – The Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements

Stepping Stones Day Nursery recognises that children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met, and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them.  It is therefore our aim to provide and create a high quality setting which is welcoming, safe and stimulating, and where children enjoy learning and will grow in confidence.

In this section we set out our policies and procedures to ensure that the children in our care are kept safe and well by ensuring that;

  • the adults in the setting are suitable to work with children
  • children are safeguarded
  • behaviour is managed
  • good health is promoted
  • records are maintained

Stepping Stones understands that it is easy to write policies and procedures, but for all systems to work it is paramount that all practitioners should have a sound knowledge of the documentation. If practitioners are ever unsure they should at least have the knowledge of where to be able to obtain the information swiftly and efficiently.
