Bumblebee’s Learning Experiences W/c 6th February 2017

Posted on Sunday, February 5, 2017 in Bumblebees Learning

From looking after and caring for our pets, this week we are taking it a little more seriously as they start to feel poorly and get into scrapes as they play.  What will we do?  Become vets of course.  Watch us as we investigate our medical bags and take temperatures, give injections and bandage their injuries. After a rest, they’ll be back to normal in no time!

In our small world area, we’ll be popping down to the station to see all the engines standing in a row.  Will we be able to put them in the right engine shed?  After all, Thomas will need to go in the blue one, James in the red and Percy in the green?

After all that imagination it’s time to think of our fine motor skills as we use our hands to connect a range of construction such as links, Duplo and our stacking rabbits.  While in the malleable we will be exploring the new texture of cornflour as we watch it drizzle through our fingers.  Through these experiences, we will be learning new words to make sense of the world around us.

For our younger babies, it’s not just about hands but all our senses as we discover heuristic and treasure play.  With sounds, textures, taste, smell and sight to be awakened look out for all the resources available including our actions and singing voices too.

Home Learning

  • Let me have fun with bubbles.  Blow them for me so that I can watch them float.  Let me pop them.  Let me have a go at blowing too.
  • Give me a box of toys to empty, explore and fill.
