Bumblebee’s Learning Experiences W/c  5th December 2016

Posted on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Bumblebees Learning

It’s Christmas!  It’s not long to go now, and this week we will be getting into the festive spirit as we start to make and create all things seasonal.  Our malleable area will be inviting children to play in the snow as we explore a wonderful substance made from baby oil and flour.  Not only can you scoop and pour but you can also mould, so look out for our wonderful snowmen creations.

In the small world, we will be bringing the Polar Express into Stepping Stones as we climb aboard, to visit Santa and his elves.  Our first stop will be toy land where there will be presents of all shapes and sizes to build and stack.  Who knows some may open, I wonder what we will find inside?  Our second stop will be a Santa’s grotto with warm dressing up clothes to adjourn, will you be able to put your gloves, hat and coats on in readiness to face the North Pole?

The younger babies will be greeted with glitz and shine as they are introduced to the world of light, sound and magic through an array of sensory materials that involve silver and gold.  Outside look out for our igloo cave with more Christmassy sensory trays.  What spices can you smell?  What sounds can you hear?  Look out also for our Christmas cooking with gingerbread and warm hot chocolate that should go down a treat.

Home Learning

  • Now’s the time to get together with family and friends.  Let me meet special grown ups and tell me their names.
  • Give me dough so that I can squeeze it or squash it with my hands or poke it with my fingers.
