Bumblebee’s Learning Experiences W/c  28th November 2016

Posted on Sunday, November 27, 2016 in Bumblebees Learning

There is so much going on in the Bumblebee room this week.  For our younger babies who have been fascinated with pushing the buttons, we will be extending on this interest by providing a range of ICT toys and activity cubes to encourage twisting, turning, pulling and pushing to achieve an effect.  Using our hand and eye coordination, we will be discovering the large peg boards as we explore colours.  Can we put all the red ones together?  How about the green?  Will you fill your board or will you stack upwards?  Thinking about towers, the Bumblebees will be exploring larger construction outside with mega blocks alongside the popular train tracks.  Will you be able to make your very own track?

Back inside and our damp sand has proved very popular, this week we will be exploring how to make castles and homes for our small world people as we play.  This links nicely to our imaginative area as we explore village life with vehicles, houses and shops.  Which house will the postman deliver to and who lives in Number four?  The children will be able to get into character as they explore our wonderful dressing up box.  Will you be able to put your arms in the sleeves?  Will it fit on your head?  Where does that belong?

Last but not least we will be exploring our gross motor skills as we introduce yoga into our calming tent.  Will you be able to stretch tall, curl up small, or wriggle like a snake?  This week there will be plenty of opportunities to learn and explore our spacial awareness as we create and discover new ways of moving.
