Last week was such a success that we have decided to extend on in all areas. Due to the busyness of the Farm Shop, they need a loan to buy a tractor and trailer for home deliveries.  Together the children will be building their own out of boxes and materials.  I wonder what colour they will paint it and how big the trailer is going to be? With the weather turning colder and the frosty mornings, it’s time to explore ice in the warmth of the indoors.  We are about to have a lot of fun as we make marks with coloured ice lollies.  Explore the texture of ice as it changes from crunchy to slushy and discover hidden treasures within the ice cubes.  Let the investigation begin.  Who knows if we’re lucky we may be able to explore some snow too! The mini beasts topic has been a huge success, and the outdoor environment continues for yet another week as we think about making mini wormery’s, nesting boxes and bird feeders to hang up and watch.  It is the time of year that we need to consider getting ready for planting as we aerate the soil and weed the ground.  We will be going on walks to the local pond to discover the frog spawn to see and discover it’s natural habitat. Where does our food come from?  This week we are going down to the farm to discover where our milk, butter, eggs and vegetables come from.  Once these are cleaned and prepared, we will be packing them up into rustic boxes and selling them to our customers.
